I think it would be wonderful to have experts on here, on the strict understanding that any advice they offer is advice only and all sufferers must seek appropriate medical advice. I would hate for an expert to be held accountable for anything they said on here, not being able to examine the posters.

Stress does have an affect, certainly anxiety about incontinence doesn't help, but I'm not sure how much of a part in plays in setting off a flare.

I always thought that colitis and ulcerative colitis were two different diseases? Colitis can be acute or chronic, whereas Ulcerative Colitis and Crohns are chronic. The type of colitis referre to by the OP seems more like some form of acute colitis, perhaps caused by the loss of the natural bacteri...
