Re: I'm struggling with car parking.

I sympathise as there's nothing worse than needing the loo and worrying you're not going to get there in time. I also sympathise with your blue badge woes, my daughter has Downs Syndrome and has just been turned down for one because she can walk and is not classed as disabled enough. I appreciate th...

Re: Surgery options - your advice please!

Hiya First off, congrats on impending fatherhood. :great: I've got an ileostomy, I've had it for 5 years and have never regretted it. I've not had the easiest of rides and still have on going issues but I would still do it all over again. Life with a stoma is far far preferable to life with uc. Init...

Re: Bleeding

Hi Marky
I would ring your IBD nurse first thing Monday morning for advice or an appointment. Bleeding usually heralds a flare up so the sooner you get to treat it the sooner you'll get it under control, don't wait until your sigmoidoscopy before seeking help as that could be weeks away.

Stoma working but very painful

Considering I have had numerous blockages over the years most of which I ended up in hospital with you would think I should have some idea what is currently going on with my stoma right now.....but I dont! Yesterday evening my tummy behind my stoma started to feel tender and overnight then became sw...

Re: I need help with undiagnosed Proctitis

Hi Sorry to hear you're not well. I thought uc or any type of inflammatory bowel disease was only confirmed via a colonoscopy and biopsies. It doesn't sound as though you have had this done. I would request a further appointment with the gastro team to discuss this further. If You're not happy with ...

Re: UC newbie!

Sorry to hear you've joined our exclusive club!! You sound very upbeat about it all tho which is great as a positive mental attitude can work wonders when dealing with uc. Uc doesn't cause vaginal bleeding but definitely is a symptom of the bowel being inflamed and ulcerated so I wonder is the blood...

Re: Currently flaring

Congrats on your pregnancy :D It was a long time ago as my daughter is 19 but I flared at 16 weeks into my pregnancy with her and this continued all the way through and only got under control after delivery. I took prenisolone and asacol for the duration and had regular check ups with both my gastro...

Re: Depressed After Blood Transfusion

I don't see why a blood transfusion would leave you feeling depressed but uc certainly can. You're living with a horrible disease with really shitty symptoms (pun intended!!) And this can make you feel both physically and mentally very low. Fatigue can be a major issue with uc. On top of that you're...
